The take
A boardwalk hotel at 4th St with Shenanigan's Irish Pub on the ground floor, which is where most people meet it. Local legend — and it is legend, not record — gives the building a resident spirit named Betsey, and the Haunted OC night tour stops here on the strength of it. The pub is dark, low-ceilinged and loud on a Saturday, and it is one of the few places on the boards where you can sit down out of the wind.
