Proprietor of Scott's Ocean House on Green Run Beach in the 1892 season, advertising weekly in the Snow Hill Democratic Messenger from a Snow Hill address: "With the broad Atlantic Ocean on one side and the placid waters of the Synepuxent Bay on the other, this is one of the healthiest resorts on the Atlantic Coast... Terms, $8 per week: $1.50 per day. Accommodations for 250 guests. BEACH PONIES ALWAYS ON HAND FOR SALE." The house opened for the season on 20 June 1892 "newly painted inside and out and newly furnished," and any party of five or more would be met by the house yacht and carried across free from Ocean City, Public Landing, Stockton, Girdletree or Franklin City. In September he was one of the two administrators, with James S. Price, of the estate of the late Capt. James Scott of Green Run Beach — evidently his father — selling off fifty beach ponies, seventy-five cattle, fifty sheep and the yacht Fairfield.
