W. R. Rayne
Ocean City councilman · active 1894–1896
One of the three Ocean City councilmen who signed the $100 reward notice of April 11, 1896 for the burglary of the town books, and therefore a member of the council elected under the 1894 charter — a body whose membership had otherwise gone unrecorded. He appears in the county deed transfers as a seller of Ocean City lots: he and his wife conveyed lot No. 183 to Robert C. Quillen by deed of January 14, 1896, the lot that generated a chancery suit and a trustee's sale in front of the Atlantic Hotel that September. Probably the William E. Rayne already in the registry, or a close relation.
