T. P. Welch
hotel manager
Manager of the Atlantic Hotel for the 1890 season, the first after the house was auctioned off at Snow Hill and resold to a syndicate of Eastern Shoremen. His advertisements in the Washington Evening Star from late May 1890 promised the 'largest and best located house on the beach', electric bells, good music, no mosquitoes and — from June 5 — 'old popular prices restored', the plainest surviving signal that new owners were cutting the Atlantic's rates to fill it.
