Of the Ocean City hotel family that had operated the Mount Pleasant Hotel for five years by 1922. In August 1922 he announced a $200,000 boardwalk hotel — a salt-water swimming pool, bowling alleys and a large dance floor, set back from the walk behind a wide porch — incorporated on 19 July 1922 as the Mason-Dixon Hotel, with construction to be handled by the B. H. Gibson Company of Chicago or H. L. Stevens & Co. of New York and occupancy promised for Easter 1923. Whether it was built is not established by the 1922 record.
