History

'Squire Nock

Proprietor of the Washington House at Snow Hill, who saved a lady from drowning at Ocean City in mid-August 1881 — almost certainly the unnamed rescuer of the bather in front of the Atlantic House reported the same week by the Middletown Transcript. Given name not found; the surname OCRs as both "Nock" and "Nook".
