Visitor killed on the Ocean City road · active 1922

Aged 18, of 931 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, formerly of Wilmington and originally of a Lewes, Delaware family. A guest at the Townsend cottage at Ocean City in August 1922, she was killed instantly late on the night of Sunday 20 August when the car taking her from the resort to Pocomoke overturned outside Ocean City; a bolt of the windshield frame struck her temple. Her body was taken to Lewes for burial. The Wilmington Evening Journal reported the car had been side-swiped by another that did not stop; the Worcester Democrat reported no collision.
