History

Judge Robley D. Jones

Judge of the Circuit Court for Worcester County who in early February 1911 held the Ocean City paving Act constitutional and valid and signed the decree dissolving the injunctions that had stopped the town building its boardwalk and cement walks at the abutting owners' expense. The Court of Appeals affirmed him in April 1912 in the case known as the Ocean City Boardwalk case, Mayor and City Council of Ocean City v. Mollie P. Bassett. His wife and daughter Emily were at Ocean City for part of the following August, which is a small measure of how far the bench and the resort overlapped in this county.
