Robert J. Henry
Worcester County businessman and hotel director · active 1882-1884
Worcester County businessman who appears twice in Ocean City's early corporate record. He was elected a director of the Atlantic Hotel Company at its stockholders' meeting on the beach in August 1882, and in March 1884 he was the first-named incorporator of the Isle of Wight Inlet and Oyster Planting Company of Worcester County — the $400,000 scheme chartered by Chapter 56 of the Acts of 1884 to cut an inlet three miles north of Ocean City in exchange for half the beds of the Isle of Wight and Assawoman bays. A Robert J. Henry, Jr. assisted S. J. Massey at the Seaside Hotel in the 1882 season; whether that is this man's son is not established.
