Capt. Oliver Parker

One of the captains of the Ocean City fishing crews. Shot five times and killed in the street outside Schaefer's bakery on Somerset Street, Ocean City, on the afternoon of Saturday 2 December 1922, by a rival captain, William Hastings. One bullet passed through his left lung and heart. The Wilmington Evening Journal reported that the only witness was Parker's small son. A coroner's jury found that Hastings killed him.
