A Delaware man, resident in Washington by 1901, described as "a business partner of John F. Waggaman of Washington". He was one of the nine incorporators of the Ocean City Steel Pier Railway and Amusement Company chartered in April 1900, and in January 1901 he bought the Seaside Hotel at Ocean City for $2,755 through George M. Upshur, acting for James D. Massey - the house to be improved and used as an annex to Waggaman's Atlantic Hotel. He and Mrs. Wilds took two weeks at the Atlantic in August 1901 and were "delighted".
