Made head cook of the Mt. Pleasant — W. E. Buell's new hotel standing 'on the board walks near the United States life saving station' — in August 1900. From Washington, D.C., 'she has had considerable experience in this line of business [and] has affairs under excellent control.' One of only three women this record can name among Ocean City's Black workforce in 1900, the others being the Madames Waters and Williams of the Atlantic Hotel's kitchen.
