Brought the Georgetown University football squad to Ocean City for its preseason camp in September 1929, drilling a new formation and looking for men to replace four graduating regulars. He left Georgetown for Columbia at the end of that season and coached there until 1956.

Georgetown University's football squad holds its 1929 preseason camp at Ocean City under head coach Lou Little.
From a dispatch datelined Ocean City, Md.: 'Head Coach Lou Little of the Georgetown University foot ball squad, in training here, hopes soon to be able to get a real line on material available to replace four regulars lost by graduation.' The 1928 men to be replaced were Ralph Dunlin at quarterback, Bobby Dwyer at halfback, John Tomaini at end and Jerry Carroll, guard and 1928 captain. The line-up Little put out 'for the movie men' the previous day: Ken Provincial at end, Capt. Jim Mooney and Paul Liston at tackle, Sam Cordovano at guard, Harold Wynkoop at centre, John Hudak at half and Steve Barabas at fullback, all 1928 regulars, with Bob Gehringer, Charles Walsh, Joe Gardner and Ben Schmid up from the reserves. 'A unique formation, which Little hopes will prove effective, was introduced to the Hoya squad yesterday.'
Ocean City as a training camp. Lou Little would leave Georgetown for Columbia within months and coach there until 1956; the squad he was drilling on this beach two days after the boardwalk burned was captained by Jim Mooney, later of the St. Louis Cardinals. It is the first big-time athletic training camp the campaign has found at the resort.
