Lemuel H. Timmons

An eighteen-year-old of Ocean City, Md., recommended in June 1933 to the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission for swimming more than 250 yards fully clothed through five-foot surf on 17 September 1931 to bring in Miss Irene Friel of Washington, who had been swept out by a current. He removed only his shoes. He is not described as a life guard, and whether the medal was awarded is not established.
