Frederick C. Pratz

Signal Service private ordered from Washington to Ocean City on April 28, 1882 to reopen the service's repair station there; by late July the county paper described him as "the officer in charge" of a signal service office in the town. He was relieved by Private James Crawford of Fort Myer in October 1882. He is the first named federal officer stationed at Ocean City outside the Life-Saving Service.
