Capt. William Short
boat captain · d. 1889
An Ocean City boat captain — "of this place," the wire dispatch said — drowned on September 7, 1889 when Capt. J. T. Robinson's boat capsized between the first and second bars on a fishing excursion. Both men were pulled down by the undertow in front of the hotels; the rest of the party were taken off by the life-saving crew.
