Captain William Carhart

Philadelphia sea captain shipwrecked off the Ocean City coast on January 5, 1799, aged 38. The only marked grave in all of Ocean City, his marble tombstone sits in West OC on Golf Course Road. Legend says he was moved inland so the tide wouldn't 'uncover him and he'd come back to haunt 'em.'
