Proprietor of Sea Crest Cottage at Ocean City, which she advertised in the Washington Herald through the summer of 1907 offering large rooms with excellent board at $2 a day or $7 to $10 a week. She is one of the very few Ocean City businesswomen the 1907 record names, and the surname places her in the Showell family that had been building and running the town since the 1870s.

Mrs. Anna B. Showell advertised Sea Crest Cottage, Ocean City, Md., in the Washington Herald through August 1907: "LARGE ROOMS, WITH EXCELLENT BOARD, $2 per day, $7 to $10 per week." The Mayberry, S. H. Mayberry proprietor, advertised in the Washington Times at $5 to $8 per week - "Location the best; table the finest; beds for comfort, the best and cleanest." At the other end of the transaction, David Moore's suburban rental list in the Evening Star carried the same line all summer, between Berkeley Springs and Bethesda Park: "Ocean City, Md., 7r. (season) $200.00" - a seven-room house on the beach for the whole season for the price of two and a half weeks at Berkeley Springs.
