Also known as Sanitation District
The sewerage authority north of the town line, and in 1964 the alternative Ocean City refused. A jointly owned disposal plant at 64th–65th Street was negotiated with the Sanitation District, and the commission's attorney, Hollingsworth Pittman, objected over jurisdiction and control. The council then declined to join it outright, on the reasoning that building the sewer first would destroy any reason for the north end to be annexed — infrastructure understood as a lever on the town's boundary rather than as plumbing. It reappears in 1992 on the other side of that argument, lending five dump trucks, four backhoes and a jetvac to dig the dune out of a car park after the storm.
