Land company chartered in September 1890 with its principal office at Ocean City, Worcester County — the first corporation this campaign has found registered in the town itself. Capital stock $10,000 in two hundred shares of $50. Incorporators and first-year directors: A. E. Godeffroy and Norman McLean of New York, and Joseph B. Seth, E. H. Roe and Wilfred Bateman of Easton. Godeffroy and Seth were both directors of the Baltimore and Eastern Shore Railroad, whose eastern terminus was the town. Its later history is unresearched, and its relationship to the larger Sinepuxent Beach Company incorporated three months later is unestablished.

A second land company, with its principal office at Ocean City, is chartered in September 1890 by New York and Easton men.
'Articles incorporating the Synepuxent Bay Land and Improvement Company have been signed by A. E. Godeffroy and Norman McLean, of New York, and Joseph B. Seth, E. H. Roe and Wilfred Bateman, of Easton, who are the incorporators and directors for the first year,' the Wilmington Evening Journal's peninsula column reported on September 17, 1890. 'The capital stock is $10,000, in two hundred shares of $50 each. The principal office of the company will be at Ocean City, Worcester county.' Godeffroy and Seth were both directors of the Baltimore & Eastern Shore. Three months before the Sinepuxent Beach Company was announced, the same circle had already put a chartered land company on the ground with its registered office in the town itself — the first corporation this campaign has found that was headquartered at Ocean City rather than in Baltimore, Snow Hill or Berlin.
