A regional association of bank cashiers from Wilmington, other Delaware towns and the Eastern Shore of Maryland, organized at a meeting held at Ocean City, Md. on the morning of August 16, 1883. General Richard Thomas of Easton, Maryland was elected president and R. H. Ewbanks of Wilmington secretary. Its formal name, constitution and subsequent history are not established.

Bank cashiers from Delaware and the Eastern Shore meet at Ocean City and found a "Peninsular" bankers' organization.
On the morning of Thursday, August 16, 1883, the cashiers of banks from Wilmington and other towns in Delaware and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland met at Ocean City and organized a peninsular association. General Richard Thomas of Easton, Maryland was chosen president and R. H. Ewbanks of Wilmington secretary. It is the third regional body this campaign has found founding or convening itself at Ocean City in four years, after the Peninsular Press Association (1880, 1881) and the state teachers.
Bankers, editors, schoolteachers. Ocean City's first industry after bathing was getting the Delmarva peninsula's professional classes into the same room, cheaply, in July.
