A country club at Ocean City with permanent quarters, agitated for several years and reported in October 1914 to have taken shape: tentative plans prepared by a prominent Baltimore architect for a two-storey frame clubhouse with a shingle roof and native-pine interior finished in natural wood, members' sleeping rooms on the second floor and a grill, billiard rooms and general club and rest rooms on the first. Over eighty members had enrolled and the list was to close at a hundred. The county paper expected it to be "one of the big features at Ocean City." No 1914 source confirms that it was built.

The Democratic Messenger of 17 October 1914: "For several years the question of organizing a **Country Club at Ocean City**, with permanent quarters, has been agitated, and that the scheme has taken shape is conveyed in an announcement that tentative plans have been prepared for the building by a prominent architect of Baltimore. **Over 80 members have been already enrolled, and as soon as the membership reaches 100, the list will close.** The building will be two stories high and of frame, with a shingle roof. The inside will be of native pine, finished in natural wood. There will be sleeping rooms for the members on the second floor, with all the latest accommodations. The first floor will contain a **grill, billiard rooms, and general club and rest rooms**. It is expected that the new club will be one of the big features at Ocean City." Whether it was built is not recorded in 1914.
