The nonprofit restoring the Henry Hotel at Baltimore Avenue and S. Division Street — the last surviving hotel that served Black visitors during Ocean City's segregation era — as a museum and learning center. Incorporated in Ocean City as Henry Hotel Inc., a 501(c)(3) run by a volunteer board; a 2024 Maryland preservation grant of $250,000 is funding the restoration work. Still active.
Every other organization in this guide is one we write about in the past tense. This one is the reason the Henry is still standing to be written about at all.

The Mayor's Black History Month proclamation of 18 February 2025 went to the Worcester County NAACP president and to Yvonne McWilliams, granddaughter of Pearl Bonner, who owned the Henry Hotel
Regular meeting of 18 February 2025, Items Presented by the Mayor and City Council: "Proclamation Recognizing February as Black History Month. Mayor Meehan presented a proclamation to Worcester County NAACP President Ivory Smith, Yvonne McWilliams, granddaughter of Pearl Bonner, owner of the Henry Hotel, and Nancy Howard of the Henry Hotel Foundation." The Henry Hotel enters this record in the 1939 assessment list; in 2025 its owner's granddaughter stands in the council chamber.
