The Baptist body for the Eastern Shore, which held its annual Training School for Christian workers — with "Chautauqua features" — at Ocean City from Sunday 25 July to Wednesday 28 July 1920, in the High School building and the adjoining Methodist Episcopal church. All classes and lectures were free; board in the town ran $2.50 to $3.50 a day and reservations went through the Methodist minister, Rev. E. P. Thomas. Officers in 1920: Rev. H. L. Parkinson president; Rev. L. B. Taylor and L. C. Marshall vice-presidents; Lloyd Webster of Cambridge treasurer; Rev. Kingman A. Handy, Baptist Educational Secretary of the State, dean of the school. Speakers included Dr. Charles H. Pinchbeck of the Seventh Baptist Church, Baltimore, Dr. William H. Parker of Cincinnati on "The New Americanism," Mrs. Valeria H. Parker of Boston, and Dr. Bob Killgore.
