The sale was staged as an entertainment: "the Famous Dixie Twin Auctioneers in action, selling a lot a minute," the Merry Band of Cambridge, $100 in gold in free-for-all contests, four vacation sites given away, and a demonstration camp tent "cozy and complete from cot to cook stove" on the ground. Reported lot prices were $250 to $500; buyers recorded in the county transfer columns that December include the Rev. Edmund Burke, J. Ralph Wooten and (as a seller of a lot he had bought) Daniel Trimper, Sr.
