Berlin-Ocean City Lions Club

A service club spanning the mainland town and the resort, presided over in 1936 by Dr. Roy A. Buhrman of Berlin. In January it advertised across the Eastern Shore for an amateur night with prizes from $50 for the best act down to $5, promising 'Amateur artists from distant localities will be given the same consideration in selecting the talent as artists from the immediate vicinity of Berlin and Ocean City'; the show was staged at the Berlin High School auditorium on Friday 13 March 1936 with performers from all parts of the Eastern Shore, and the proceeds went to the club's charity fund.
