Berlin Electric Light and Railway Company

Chartered by Ch. 396 of the Maryland Acts of 1902 to build and operate an electric railway through Pocomoke City, Stockton, Girdletree, Snow Hill, Newark, Berlin and Ocean City, with branches anywhere in Worcester County, and to generate and sell electric light and power for streets, roads and buildings across the county. Incorporators: Roger B. Adams, Levin Dirickson, Marion G. Margie, Levin L. Dirickson, George W. Adams, W. G. Kerbin and Charles E. Onley of Worcester County, and William H. Murphy of Delaware. Adams was soliciting stock in New York and Philadelphia by July 1902 and Worcester people were subscribing. No track was ever laid.
For one summer Ocean City was going to be at the end of a trolley line from Pocomoke City. The charter is all that survives of it.
